Russian Money and Denominations
Russian currency is not as confusing as people seem to think. It's actually quite simple. The main form of money comes in "roubles", and cents are measured by "kopeks". 100 kopeks equals 1 rouble.

► The bills come in denominations of 10, 50, 100, 500, and 1000. There is also a new 5000-rouble note.

There are also rouble coins, which come in denominations of 1,2, 10, 50 kopecks; 1, 2, and 5 roubles. Occasionally you may get a 10 rouble coin - these are also new.
