Business hours are typically from between 9:30 and 17:00 for government offices and 10:00 until 19:00 or 20:00 for most shops. Food shops are typically open from 8:00 until 20:00. Many offices and some stores still close for lunch (obed) from between 13:00 and 14:00 which can be really annoying. You will also find plenty of stores that are open 24 hours (mostly convenience stores with alcohol, cigarettes, junk food and some real food, but there are also some large supermarkets open all night). You will find these stores in most districts in any large, Russian city.
