BUSES ►

St. Petersburg - Finland ►

There are a number of decent buses that run between St. Petersburg and Helsinki. A popular bus stops at Ploshad Isskustvo. There are also buses leaving from the Oktyabrskaya hotel and hotel Pulkovskaya. If you are in St. Petersburg and planning a trip to Finland, it is always useful to a call or even visit the Finland Tourist Information Center (details below), where you can get lots of information and the services there are quite good.

If you use the regular bus scheduled between St. Petersburg and Helsinki it will cost between 30 and 35 Euros, but will also save you lots of time and the bus is quite comfortable. The bus runs two and sometimes even three times a day, but usually at 9 o'clock in the morning and at 11 o'clock in the evening. The nice thing is that this bus passes through the border very quickly and usually without any delay. It is never overcrowded, it is easy to get the tickets in advance, and the service is up to Western standards. The bus goes through Torfianovka - Vaalimaa. Also, the bus has several stops in some big cities between St. Petersburg and Helsinki, for example Hamina, Karhula and Porvoo.

Here are the details for the "regular" bus, owned by a Finnish company:

There are many other travel companies in St. Petersburg which serve Finland by bus for an average price of about 15 Euros. But you may have some problems at the border and the trip may be longer and less comfortable. But if you really would like to save money, this may not be a bad option.
