► PICNIC
This band never was never as popular as the other whales of Russian rock, even though they formed their group around the same time and were equally as talented. The main reason for this is probably due to the fact that their music was often mysterious and they had a very unique style from the get-go, which was in 1978. And they managed to keep this style throughout the years. They still record new music today and still have a loyal fan base.
PICNIC became a member of the Leningrad Rock Club, in fact they were among the very first bands to become members. But for many years they experienced troubled times, especially with producing records and getting their creative work out there to the public. In 1987, times were becoming easier for rock bands and PICNIC finally released an album called "Hieroglyph" on vinyl.

The leader of PICNIC was always Edmund Shklyarsky, who is a very interesting person. In addition to creating music, he also paints and writes novels. He likes mysterious objects, unexplained phenomena, which is easily noticeable in his elusive music and poetry. Lovers of darker music or mysterious things in general will appreciate PICNIC. So far the band has released about 15 records and they are still making music to this day.
